Comment:
Plasmodium vivax infected thick film - Giemsa stain 1 in 10 for 30 minutes. Compare with other Plasmodium vivax (research) slides which have been prepared using different staining methods to determine the best method to diagnose the parasite infection. Note this is not as good as the method using Giemsa stain 1 in 25 for 25 minutes (with no fixation, smear allowed to dry in the air) in which the malarial parasites are clearly seen against a pale clean background (- see slide 1 09).
